Adding graphics and compositing special-effects into a film project can add a whole new world of possibilities to your productions. Adobe After Effects is the premiere motion graphics program for creating these animated effects, and compositing moving images for titles, trailers and presentations. This class will introduce users to this powerful program by surveying the interface, demonstrating how to import materials, the importance of the PARTS acronym, methods of both animating and editing, the mysterious uses of Switches and Modes, and the existence of hidden columns. Students will learn to work with Adjustment Layers as well as Green Screen replacement. Basic effects as well as preset text effects will be introduced. We will also review Motion Stabilization, the new Content Aware, masking, the interaction between Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects, rendering for different end uses, and working with 3-D layers as well as After Effects cameras.
Editing computers will be provided.
