Creating the vision, the world that the audience will live in, and guiding actors into the characters they need to become to tell your story is only the beginning of what a Director must do. How to develop this vision, how to communicate it to your crew and actors, and how to create a sound plan to carry out the production itself is what a Director creates and oversees. From breaking down the script, to developing a storyboard, to creating the schedule and budget, these are the planning points that a Director develops. Working with costume, set, sound, FX, and art design, the Director creates the time and the place for their story. Sound planning and communication skills are what you must convey clearly to your team of actors, artists, and technicians.

In this class, each facet of a Director's job is explored and your skills in performing are exercised.
