Here are some of the delicious classes we'll be cooking up soon!
Lighting by design
The difference between a professional and amateurish look of your videos can easily be found in how lighting was used to control the mood and environment in which you shoot. Lighting by design explores the application and theory behind cinematic and photographic aesthetic elements. Understanding the shadows and controlling the intensity and quality of how you apply lighting can make all the difference.
This class will explore various environments such as studio lighting, portrait lighting, lighting on location, lighting a specific set for mood, and outdoor lighting under various conditions.
Sound: Everything you've heard isn't true
Sound design is used to make a scene more real or to make sure a real situation sounds real. Understanding the equipment, the environments, and the process of developing effective soundtracks is the core purpose of this class. Using digital and analog Foley effects as well as recording audio live and through ADR will be the basis of the hands-on exercises conducted during this program.
The Director's Vision
This class is designed to take the student through 3 stages of project development. Building the vision by reading and breaking down the script the Director must develop the look, pacing, and style. Through scene notes and storyboards conveyed to the Art Directors and Director of Cinematography, the effects artists and editors can share the same vision on what their efforts will achieve.
The planning stage is where locations and sets are determined, scenes are broken down and scheduled, and where budgets and logistical plans are finalized. During class exercises our students will have an opportunity to work with a group of actors and crew to rehearse and prepare for their shoot.
Production Management: 1
This course concentrates on script analysis and breakdown to develop an effective shooting schedule and the preliminary budget. How a Line Producer or Assistant Director finds the locations and resources to match a Director's vision and control costs will be an active part of class lessons. Additionally, you will learn to prepare materials necessary to present your pitch to studios and investors. Remember this is show business and everyone wants to make money, be prepared.
Knowing the target audience and the markets available for your film's dissemination is critical in determining how much and who will provide the funding for your project. Understanding film analytics will help you understand how to present the revenue possibilities to prospective investors.
Production Management: 2
As a producer you are expected to turn out a product that is not only good and within the financial parameters you created but also which means all the legal and contractual requirements necessary for distribution. Proper contracts, clearances, bonds and insurances have foiled many productions before they could ever reach the theater.
This program deals with the law, finding and developing investors, and developing your marketing plan and outlets.

Adobe Illustrator for Graphic Artists
Moving text and vector art is another layer the graphic artist needs to know. The additional layer of texture or the enhanced titling effects available through Adobe Illustrator are must-have tools for the graphic effects artists in today's industry. This class not only develops your basic skills within Illustrator but illustrates how they are used within the film making process.
