The Media Ministry course is broken up into two sections. They are designed specifically for use in a church environment. They focus on the equipment and techniques critical to capturing and streaming programs in a primarily indoor and populated environment.
*Students will also be able to participate in weekend projects with their classmates to expand their experience in media production and development.*
Media Ministry 101
In this course, we deal with the equipment and techniques necessary to capture good quality sound and images. The class will include an option for students to bring in their equipment to better implement the techniques taught and an opportunity for an in-person consultation at your shooting location. This course will cover:
● The production process and preparation
● Camera operations, composition, color balancing and exposure
● Sound capture and choosing the appropriate microphone placements
● Using a mixer and synchronizing sound
● Controlling your lighting and selecting the proper setup
● Basic editing and switching equipment
● Basic Technical Directing
Media Ministry 102
Creating a smooth and professional production requires more than simple equipment knowledge. Planning, rehearsing, and graphical elements will create a professional-looking production and a smooth workflow. This course will cover:
● Managing your resources and addressing your equipment needs
● Planning your production from scripting to technical directing
● Handling the blocking of participants within your church environment
● Preparing your additional resources, graphics, and external video
● Preparing your technical team and your minister
● Directing a live multi-camera switched program
● Planning for expansion and finding other media products that can enhance your ministries message
This is an 8-week class.
